Domestic Energy Assessor - Virtual Classroom (DEA)

Course Title: ABBE Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment

Awarding Body: ABBE

This course will be delivered via Zoom over three consecutive days during the week with a live tutor and interactive case studies and the facility to ask questions in real time - just as if you were sat in the classroom!

This three day virtual classroom based course will give you the skills required to survey domestic buildings and produce accurate Energy Performance Certificates. EPC's are required to be produced by law when a property is sold or let. EPC/EPRs are also required for some ECO funded installations and various other Government grant schemes.

April 2020 saw the further implementation of the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) in England & Wales which makes it illegal for private landlords to rent out any properties which have an EPC rating worse than an E.

Once the three days are complete students will be required to complete a portfolio of example EPCs along with some other electronic assignments. Full portfolio guidance will be provided during the training sessions and each student will be assigned a personal tutor to help guide you through the process via email and telephone support.

Once qualified, candidates can become accredited for with any of the UKs approved Accreditation Schemes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between the DEA 5 Day Course and the DEA Online Courses?

A: The qualification, registration and portfolio requirements are all exactly the same. The difference is that any candidates opting for the attendance course will complete the portfolio requirements whilst in attendance, whereas if you opt for one of our online courses, you will complete your coursework assignments remotely after the three day webinar has concluded.

Q: Are then any hidden or extra costs?

A: The price you see advertised includes everything you need to achieve the qualification. This includes the ABBE registration fee, electronic course materials, RDSAP trainee software, unlimited portfolio attempts within a 12 month timeframe and your final ABBE level 3 certificate.

Q: What happens after I am qualified?

A: Once qualified you will need to become a member of an approved accreditation body. Most of them are free to join and charge a lodgement fee each time you produce and register an EPC. This cost is approximately £7.00 + VAT per certificate.
