Description

ABBE Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment

The ABBE Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Assessment qualification is intended for individuals employed in the built environment and construction industry. The Retrofit Coordinator is a mandatory role for all retrofit projects as outlined in PAS2035.

The role of the Retrofit Coordinator is to protect both the client’s and the public interest. Retrofit Coordinators must be qualified to provide end-to-end project coordination - from project inception to handover and beyond—including basic monitoring and evaluation. They are also responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing technical and process risks associated with domestic retrofit projects. The Retrofit Coordinator plays a pivotal and overarching role in the retrofit process.

Compliance with PAS2035 is a mandatory requirement for schemes operating under TrustMark, the new quality mark for the retrofit sector. The Retrofit Coordinator ensures and claims compliance with PAS2035. This qualification confirms occupational competence.

The qualification takes a practical approach, balancing academic assignments with applied theory through retrofit software case studies based on real-world projects. This ensures that newly qualified coordinators are fully prepared to fulfil their role confidently in the marketplace.
